When using film, contact sheets can surprise you with astonishing images that were unplanned. Exciting relationships emerge between frames. Some happen by accident, some by intent, some by night swallowing the frame edge allowing time to flow, some by unexpected juxtaposition, but all happened within the camera without manipulation. The images in this series have been collected from different projects over 35 years, as they occurred. It is possible to escape the limitations of one moment, one frame, without resorting to manipulation in the darkroom, or on the computer. Daring to flirt with accident, taking risks, looking at what the camera saw, as opposed to one's own preconception, releases a new visual dynamic.
